How to Grow your Mailing list

Are you ready to grow your mailing list? Then you've come to the right spot. Having a mailing list is such an important part of our digital marketing strategy. This is where you can connect one-on-one with people who are invested in your product or service.

Today I'm sharing 5 simple ways to grow your mailing list and build your subscriber base. These tactics have worked not only for me but for my clients too. So let's dive in and help you build your subscribers.

  1. Pop-up! The power of a pop-up should never be underestimated. It's a sure way to grab the viewers attention and have them sign up for your newsletter or special offer. I love pop-ups and think they can work well in various situations. You don't have to choose just one, let's say you manage multiple different newsletters, a different section of your website can have different pop-ups for that specific newsletter. Now that's not to say everything single page should have its own pop-up (PLEASE don't do that), but if you have a specific offer it can be a different pop-up compared to your welcome page.

  2. Static Section on Your Website. Ok I know compared to the pop-up this may seem boring. However, sometimes it's out natural reaction to click out OR perhaps we aren't convinced to join just yet. In that case, I truly feel it's very important to have a stand-alone section on your website that allows people to sign up for your newsletter after they have read through your site and are a bit more invested. This can be in the footer or even it's own bar/page. I also find this makes it easier for viewers to share your newsletter sign up page with friends. PLUS you can add the page link to apps like LinkTree!

  3. Freebies. Who doesn't love a freebie?! A freebie can be an amazing way to entice people who are already invested in what you have to offer. When they sign up for the Freebie, why not have it sent to them via email as a subscriber-only offer vs. an instant download. In my opinion, this is the best way to make a freebie really work for you.

  4. Quiz Results! Ok, this might be by far the most fun. Regardless of your industry as humans, we LOVE to take quizzes. Why not set a quiz on your website that helps them as well as you. For example, if you're an interior designer, perhaps have a quiz that reveals their style, or if you're selling a course, perhaps do a personality quiz. Quiz results can then be turned for subscribers only emails. Allowing you to build your mailing list and for your interested followers to get to know themselves a little more!

  5. Posts on your platforms. If you're offering up an amazing newsletter, why not talk about it on social media? Create posts on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and more sharing why your newsletter is something they need in their life. I do this often and always find I get a handful of subscribers the same day.

BONUS: A extra way to get subscribers is to also just have a link in your email signature. I know it sounds so simple, but this is a sure way to get those people who are already emailing you to join your newsletter!

So there you have it some great ways to build your subscriber base and advance your newsletter.
